My wife and I are in training for the New Forest Half Marathon, taking place on 25th September, (so lets hope for a nice day). We have decided to take on this challenge not because we love running or have some spare time, but because we want to do something for a very important local charity.
Oakhaven Hospice, was openned in 1992 and has cared for sometihng like 21,000 cancer patients over this time. It provides an incredible service for Lymington and the surrounding coastal areas, from Hythe to Barton on Sea. (www.oakhavenhospice.co.uk)
I am sure many people in our community have been touched or know of someone who has been touched by the services that Oakhaven Hospice provides.
So here we are less than a month before the run, training is going slowly but surely, panic is beginning to kick in and it is time to focus on the reason for this challenge. Raising money for our local hospice.
We would be exceptionally grateful for any small donation that people can provide for the cause, every little helps. We respectfully ask that you click on this link, http://www.oakhavenhospice.co.uk/oakhaven-giving/167-michael-and-charlene-burkmar/profile which goes to Oakhaven’s giving page and pledge something for the enduring 13 miles that we will have to take on very soon!
Thank you for taking your time to read this and for your support.
