Following several years at a well-known estate agent in New Milton, Michael joined his father at the family business in 1996, three years after Burkmars doors first opened. Since then, Michael has been responsible for the sale of 100s of properties, with over £250m worth of Lymington property sold in the last 10 years alone.
His experience and diplomacy with all stakeholders throughout the property chain gives Michael a huge advantage in getting properties sold at the best price, and in the shortest possible time frames. Despite his determination, Michael is well known for being supportive, sympathetic and discrete, particularly during sensitive transactions, and will always go the extra mile for his clients to ensure he achieves their desired outcomes.
Born and raised in Lymington and the New Forest, including attending local Durlston Court School, Michael is now a resident across the county border in Mudeford. A dedicated and proud father of two, Michael and his family enjoy surfing, skiing, paddle-boarding and running together.
Born and bred in Lymington and the New Forest area, Hugh joined the Burkmars team in 2019 and quickly became an integral member of the sales team. Following a successful spell at a well-known estate agency in Southbourne, Hugh returned to his Lymington roots, where as a resident, his clients can benefit from his invaluable wealth of local knowledge.
Coming from a family of property-obsessed estate agents in the area, Hugh is rapidly making a name for himself in the Lymington property market and firmly giving his family a run for their money with his approachable personality, enthusiasm and determination to provide the best service.
Hugh loves the variety that comes with being an estate agent, in which no two days are the same and there’s always an opportunity to meet new and interesting people. As a qualified football coach, Hugh remains involved in supporting and playing in the local community; representing several local teams and continuing to coach when needed. As an active sportsman, he can regularly be found on the golf course or tennis courts.
Ellen’s passion has always been property. She made the decision to start a career in estate agency whilst still at school and in 1991 joined a well known local agent. Aside from spending a few years working as a Financial Advisor, earning Financial Planning Certificates, Ellen has remained loyal to the estate agency industry, joining Burkmars in 2010, and can’t imagine working in any other profession.
With unrivalled exposure to the property buying and selling process over the years, Ellen provides great support to the sales team, whilst ensuring all client-properties are given the best marketing exposure. Having bought, sold and, on occasion, refurbished many local properties, Ellen brings a unique client-focused perspective to her role.
With one child at Priestlands School, one at Lymington Juniors and a husband, who she supports with running the local Beavers club, Ellen is a familiar face in the Lymington area. Over the years, she has helped to coordinate Burkmars’ sponsorship of local events and also enjoys yoga as well as walking her dog, Perdie.
Pam brings over 20 years of experience in estate agency to the team, having built a deep understanding of the local market over the years. A lifelong resident of Lymington, she has a true passion for the area and its community. Outside of work, Pam enjoys walking in the beautiful surroundings of the New Forest and spending quality time with her family. Her extensive knowledge and personal connection to Lymington make her a trusted and dedicated advisor to all her clients.
Lucy brings a wealth of experience to the team, having worked as an estate agent in London before relocating to Lymington. Her background in the fast-paced London market, combined with her passion for property, makes her a skilled and knowledgeable advisor. Lucy now enjoys raising her young family in Lymington and is also actively involved in property development, having overseen several refurbishments. Her unique insight into both family life and property renovation gives her a well-rounded perspective when helping clients navigate the local market.
Richard Burkmar, now retired from estate agency, founded Burkmars estate agents in 1993. He handed over the reins to his son, Michael Burkmar in 2020 following a very successful career, in which he built the well-respected brand that it is known today. A local Lymington resident since birth, Richard remains an advisor to the business, to ensure its reputation as an honest and professional estate agency with the utmost integrity is retained.
